KD’s Fashion Police: The Met Gala 2015

Hello, guys, it’s John Ocean again, yes that John Ocean, and no thank you, I did not. So, the Met Gala came and went, and I loved every minute of it. I did not want any secondhand stories, so I had to buy black market *sigh* to charge the inverter the day before, and then still filled the generator tank for the day (only Nigerians will understand). I mean, this is the Oscars of Fashion. We cannot leave matters in the hands of PHCN.

The red carpet did not disappoint. These ladies (and gentlemen) brought their A-game. Not minding a few disappointments, I was reminded that our stars on this side of the planet are light years behind on the fashion stakes. Meanwhile, when I saw Kris Jenner, I was positive Kanye had nude photos of Anna Wintour that he is using to blackmail her, because Kris has no place at the Met Gala. Anna had previously said she does not invite reality TV stars to the event, because she does not consider them actors. But then, Kanye blackmailed her into letting Kim attend last year. Now Mama Kris this year. No nau! Kanye is blackmailing Anna. Simple! And I shall find out why.

Anyway, let’s delve into some fashion with my Hits, Misses and the ‘Erm…Okay’. Feel free to disagree where necessary.

Sarah Jessica Parker

She came like a warrior with blazing guns to a pistol fight, which is really not surprising, considering she played Carrie Bradshaw on Sex and the City. The Philip Treacy headpiece was amazing and I believe this picture was what Alicia Keys had in mind when she did the ‘This Girl Is On Fire’ song.

I think she embodied the theme of the event very well and looked like a Chinese goddess coming down to destroy the Kardashians.

They both wore arty gowns and coordinated their outfits in a sort of Goth-sexy way and I loved it. I especially love Madonna, that woman keeps defying her age! She is the real queen. #NoShade Continue reading

Daniel Radcliffe thinks Gay Sex is Painful, Plus Other Behind-The-Sex-Scenes Revelations

On-screen sex can be all sorts of hot, even though most of what we see on TV and in film is of the heterosexual variety. There’s a craft involved in making the finished product seem to drip off the screen, and good sex scenes can be masterful storytelling.

But it’s another story entirely for the actors and actresses shooting the scenes. It’s almost reminiscent of first-time experiences — awkward, fumbling, uncomfortable.

Here’s a rundown of some of our favorite actors discussing getting down during a hard day’s work:

Jamie Dornan on the upcoming 50 Shades of Gray1 screen sex“Your dignity is intact as much as it’s all tucked away in a little flesh-coloured bag… As a guy you put all your essentials in a little bag and you tie it up like a little bag of grapes and it’s tucked away.”

Neil Patrick Harris on Gone Girl2 screen sex‘We had to rehearse the sex scene with David [Fincher], like every inch of it — ‘Then you put your mouth on his dick here, and then this number of thrusts, and then you ejaculate.’ He doesn’t want a lot of reinterpretation once you start rolling.’

Neil Patrick Harris To Be People Magazine’s First Openly Gay “Sexiest Man Of The Year”?

Neil Patrick Harris 04Neil Patrick Harris is poised to take home People magazine’s title of “Sexiest Man of the Year” prize, NewYork Daily News reports.

People has never had an openly gay ‘Sexiest Man’ before,” one insider said. “It would certainly make news and generate buzz for the magazine. Plus, Neil is going to be hosting the Oscars. He’s in Gone Girl, he was just on Broadway. He’s also happily married with kids. He is having an amazing year.”

While I won’t deny Mr. Harris’ good looks and charm, I couldn’t help but think of other gay guys who might make equally strong contenders for the coveted title. Continue reading

Actor Neil Patrick Harris lost virginity at party

NeilPatrickHarrisHWOFSept2011Neil Patrick Harris lost his virginity at a party.

The 41-year-old actor recalled the moment he was left feeling humiliated after he got physical beneath the sheets with a woman, for the first time, at a gathering.

Speaking on NPR show ‘Fresh Air’, he explained: ”We were at a party and some girl was there from college with a friend and [she] told my group of friends that she wanted to have sex with me because I was on a TV show. And so my friends were like, ‘This is the time! It’s perfect! You have to have sex right now!’ It seemed perfect at the time … so it happened.

”So it was very warm and exciting and it was done very quickly. And then she was done — she didn’t want to date me or anything … I was sort of shell-shocked by it all. …. I thought, ‘OK. Where’s my pants?’ And then she was gone. It was very unceremonious.”

The ‘How I Met Your Mother’ hunk came out as gay in 2006 and is now married to David Burtka, and he insists he has no regrets about revealing his sexuality.

He explained: ”I knew that coming out would be an inevitability sometime. I was thankfully in a relationship with David and I was very much in love with him and it started to seem uncomfortable to not recognise him. It seemed more insulting to him to go to a movie premiere and then I get out of the car on one door, he gets out of the car on the other door, I go down the press line by myself. That just seemed disrespectful.”

Some Celebrities Who Are Out And Proud

Check out the many celebs who are gay and don’t give a fuck who knows about it.

Ellen Page1 EllenPageJuno star Ellen Page gave quite a moving speech when she took the stage at the Human Rights Campaign’s inaugural gathering in Las Vegas last February. “I’m here today because I am gay,” she told the audience. “And because maybe I can make a difference, to help others have an easier and more hopeful time. Regardless, for me, I feel a personal obligation and a social responsibility. I am tired of hiding and I am tired of lying by omission.”

Frank Ocean2 FrankAfter a reporter questioned Grammy-winning rapper Frank Ocean about some of his song lyrics in July 2012, Ocean posted his thoughts on the subject on his website. He detailed the love he had for another man when he was 19: “I won’t forget you. I won’t forget the summer,” he wrote. “I’ll remember who I was when I met you.” Critics and fans applauded the announcement, but the rap community — not so much. Fellow rapper T-Pain shared in an interview seven months later that certain artists refuse to work with Ocean because they’re homophobic. Continue reading
