British Tabloid Speculates Russell Tovey And Sam Smith Romance

You gotta love the tabloids. They’re always trying to romantically link celebrities who are spotted out and about together. The latest victims of the rumor mill are Sam Smith and Russell Tovey.

According UK’s Mirror, Sam was “cozying up” to Russell this past weekend during a music festival in London’s Hyde Park. The publication goes on to state “the two chums were getting on like a house on fire backstage,” which must be some sort of British euphemism for flirting.

Kristen Stewart’s mum says she didn’t ‘out’ actress to tabloid

The mother of Twilight actress Kristen Stewart has denied talking about the star’s girlfriend during an interview.

The actress, who was previously linked to a string of men including Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson, usually refuses to speak about her own private life and sexuality.

However, the Sunday Mirror carried an interview with Jules Stewart, the star’s mum, in which she supposedly claimed her daughter is in a relationship Alicia Cargile.

The paper claims she said: “I’ve met Kristen’s new girlfriend, I like her. What’s not to accept? She’s a lovely girl. I feel like people need to be free to love whoever they want. I accept my daughter loves women and men.”

Jennifer Lawrence’s Bodyguard Is Unbelievably Hot

It’s safe to say Jennifer Lawrence’s bodyguard is very easy on the eyes.

Although the Hunger Games star showed off her legs in a pair of super-short denim shorts in New York City on Wednesday, it’s actually her genetically blessed bodyguard that stole the show for being, well … hot.

That’s him in the pic above, managing to look even more adorable carrying J. Law’s beloved dog, Pippi. And just in case you think that’s just him on a good day, check him out in NYC on Thursday, looking like he stepped straight out of a cologne ad.

KD’s Fashion Police: The Met Gala 2015

Hello, guys, it’s John Ocean again, yes that John Ocean, and no thank you, I did not. So, the Met Gala came and went, and I loved every minute of it. I did not want any secondhand stories, so I had to buy black market *sigh* to charge the inverter the day before, and then still filled the generator tank for the day (only Nigerians will understand). I mean, this is the Oscars of Fashion. We cannot leave matters in the hands of PHCN.

The red carpet did not disappoint. These ladies (and gentlemen) brought their A-game. Not minding a few disappointments, I was reminded that our stars on this side of the planet are light years behind on the fashion stakes. Meanwhile, when I saw Kris Jenner, I was positive Kanye had nude photos of Anna Wintour that he is using to blackmail her, because Kris has no place at the Met Gala. Anna had previously said she does not invite reality TV stars to the event, because she does not consider them actors. But then, Kanye blackmailed her into letting Kim attend last year. Now Mama Kris this year. No nau! Kanye is blackmailing Anna. Simple! And I shall find out why.

Anyway, let’s delve into some fashion with my Hits, Misses and the ‘Erm…Okay’. Feel free to disagree where necessary.

THE GOOD

Sarah Jessica Parker

She came like a warrior with blazing guns to a pistol fight, which is really not surprising, considering she played Carrie Bradshaw on Sex and the City. The Philip Treacy headpiece was amazing and I believe this picture was what Alicia Keys had in mind when she did the ‘This Girl Is On Fire’ song.

I think she embodied the theme of the event very well and looked like a Chinese goddess coming down to destroy the Kardashians.

Madonna and Katy Perry

They both wore arty gowns and coordinated their outfits in a sort of Goth-sexy way and I loved it. I especially love Madonna, that woman keeps defying her age! She is the real queen. #NoShade

Coming on the heels of Steven Ugochukwu’s Instagram rants, actor Yul Edochie spoke to Saturday Beats, telling ‘his own side of the story’. It would appear, from his account, that the actor snagged himself one hell of a stalker. Check on it below.

“This guy contacted me through Facebook and told me he was a homosexual. I told him that I was not gay and a few weeks later, I started getting calls from a Canadian number. When I first picked his call, he told me that his name is Stephen Ugochukwu and he was the one that reached me via Facebook. He told me that he had some friends in Nollywood that could get him any number he wanted.

“Shortly after, he started calling me very often to the extent that I started blocking all his lines but it only worked for a short while. He called with a strange number again and told me that he went on the internet to learn how to call somebody with any number he liked. I blocked about 20 of his numbers but he kept calling. He said that he just loved me and that he was a big fan. He said that he just wanted to be my friend and I said okay. I told him that I am not God and I don’t discriminate against people. I told him that it was his business if he was gay.”

Piers Morgan blasts the Dolce and Gabbana boycott, says it’s another word for bullying

Piers Morgan has savaged the boycott of Dolce and Gabbana after the pair’s dismissal of ‘non-traditional’ families – claiming that a boycott is “just another word for bullying”.

Legendary fashion designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana – who are gay themselves – made the controversial comments in an interview this week, when they said in part: “We oppose gay adoptions. The only family is the traditional one. No chemical offsprings and rented uterus: life has a natural flow, there are things that should not be changed.”

Sir Elton John – who has sons Zachary and Elijah with his husband David Furnish – told the pair: ” How dare you refer to my beautiful children as ‘synthetic’… your archaic thinking is out of step with the times, just like your fashions. I shall never wear Dolce and Gabbana ever again.”

Writing in the Mail, former journalist Piers Morgan said that while he supports gay rights and supports Sir Elton, he believes boycotts are “bullying”.

Dolce And Gabbana Respond To Backlash Over Controversial Remarks

Gay designing duo, Dolce and Gabbana has responded to a boycott of their brand by celebrities including Elton John, Ricky Martin, Sharon Stone, and Ryan Murphy with about as little class as some of their more gaudy designs. They’ve appropriated the “je suis Charlie” slogan that was used after the Paris attack on the satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo that left twelve people dead.

Last week, the former couple was quoted in the Italian magazine Panorama saying, “We oppose gay adoptions. The only family is the traditional one. No chemical offspring and rented uterus: life has a natural flow, there are things that should not be changed.”

Naturally, that didn’t go over too well. Elton John responded, writing on Instagram, “How dare you refer to my beautiful children as ‘synthetic.’ And shame on you for wagging your judgmental little fingers at IVF – a miracle that has allowed legions of loving people, both straight and gay, to fulfill their dream of having children. Your archaic thinking is out of step with the times, just like your fashions. I shall never wear Dolce and Gabbana ever again.”

Empire’s Jussie Smollett Comes Out, Says ‘There Is No Closet.’

There’s been a lot of speculation about Empire actor Jussie Smollett’s sexuality since the show has risen in popularity, fueled in part by his reluctance to talk about his personal life in the media. Now he’s made a special appearance with Ellen to sort-of-kinda-come out.

Jussie plays a gay role on the show, and last week, in a recent Q&A, his costar Malik Yoba was asked about the success of the series and its impact, and specifically brought up the gay representation on the show. He said:

“I think that our show represents a huge opportunity to stay in the culture beyond entertainment value and there’s an intrinsic nature of you have the gay factor, right? So, obviously, Lee (Daniels, co-creator) is gay. That was an important storyline for him. I think it’s important for people to see themselves. Even within the Black community. But if you aren’t really, really taking it off of screen and making it live in the community in a significant way … like I know Jussie, he is gay, and he’s very committed to issues around the LGBT community. He and I have a very close relationship.”

Many on social media were upset that Yoba apparently outed his costar.
