jenner_635x250_1433441033The International Olympic Committee has made its first statement about Caitlyn Jenner’s transition to a woman, responding to an online petition requesting that the organization, which runs the Olympic Games, revoke the gold medal Caitlyn (then Bruce) won during the 1976 Montreal Olympics.

In its response to the petition, IOC Communications Director Mark Adams tells Yahoo, “Bruce Jenner won his gold medal in the 1976 Olympic Games and there is no issue for the IOC.” Continue reading

Petition calls for Caitlyn Jenner’s Olympic medals to be taken away

bruce-jenner-caitlyn-jennerA petition has been started asking the Olympic Committee to remove Caitlyn Jenner’s medals.

She won a gold medal in the men’s decathlon in the 1976 Olympics, as well as gold in the same event in the 1975 Pan American Games.

The step-parent to the Kardashians, Caitlyn Jenner revealed her new name as she appeared on the latest cover of Vanity Fair.

The change.org petition states that as she competed in the men’s event, her medals should no longer be valid since she has spoken about her identity as a woman. Continue reading

Actress Alice Eve branded a bigot over rant against Bruce Jenner

Screenshot - 4_28_2015 , 10_32_00 AMThere have been declarations of support from across the world for Bruce Jenner, the former Olympic champion and stepfather of reality TV star Kim Kardashian, following his announcement that he thinks of himself as a woman after beginning gender reassignment treatment.

But Star Trek actress Alice Eve has boldly gone where few public figures have gone before, by wading into transgender politics. She provoked a furore by taking umbrage with decathlon gold medalist Jenner’s declaration that ‘for all intents and purposes’ he is a woman.

‘Nope,’ she wrote on her Instagram page. ‘If you were a woman, no one would have heard of you because women can’t compete in the decathlon. You wouldn’t be a hero. You would be a frustrated young athlete who wasn’t given a chance. Continue reading

The Piece About A New Jenneration

bruce-jenner-ineterviewBruce Jenner admitted on Live Television that he is now a woman. And world over, people reacted to the news, even right here on Kito Diaries. There were congratulations, support, lukewarm responses and even derision. I was quite disappointed at how some KDians so caustically dismissed the issue of the man’s Transgender issue, choosing to fall back on their prejudice, the very same prejudice we bemoan the heterosexual public for exhibiting toward the LGBT. Over time, I have come to realize that for most LGBT people, especially here on KD, the LGBT movement is really just about LG, sometimes LGB. They do not understand or empathize with the T, and they do not want to.

Well, hopefully, this write-up, originally published on thenakedsword.com will make you realize that in this fight for equality, we are all on the same side. Read below.

Hours before the West Coast premiere, I was inundated with reports and comments about the Jenner interview via email and social media. Apparently 30 seconds after the show aired on the East Coast, GLAAD hit the ‘send’ button on an email heralding Jenner for helping people understand what it means to be transgender, suggesting I visit a link to GLAAD’s Tips for Allies of Transgender People. I saw a tweet from Perez Hilton claiming that two of Jenner’s previous wives made supportive comments, but that Kris Jenner reportedly refused to comment. His tweet was promptly rebutted by Kris in a tweet telling Perez to “Fuck off,” no one asked her for a comment and to “keep it real” because she was sitting with Bruce watching the show. He has since started hormone therapy again, after previously taking the estrogen medication for five years back in the 1980s, and he has reached out to Cox to learn more about what to expect from his journey as he embarks on his new life as a woman. Continue reading

‘For All Intents And Purposes, I Am A Woman.’ – Bruce Jenner Says, While Clarifying That He Is Not Gay

Screenshot - 4_25_2015 , 6_13_51 AMBruce Jenner is explaining his sexuality after revealing to Diane Sawyer that he is transitioning into a woman.

During his exclusive sit-down interview with ABC News, Bruce shared that he is “not gay.”

“I am, as far as I know, heterosexual,” he explained. “As far as I know, I’ve never been with a guy. I’ve always been married, raising kids.”

“And you can desire a woman every bit as much?” Sawyer asked.

“Yah, yah,” he responded.

Sawyer continued, “If you are a male and you become a female, but you like women, are you a lesbian? Are you a heterosexual who…”

But before Sawyer could fill in the blank, the Olympic athlete said, “You’re going back to the sex thing and it’s apples and oranges.” Continue reading
