The story of the anonymous dude with diphallia — the rare condition of being born with two functioning penises — came out exactly a year ago via a Reddit AMA. Now he’s given an interview to Rolling Stone and come out with a memoir. (Picture above is the book cover)
Yes, he’s still anonymous — the author on the book, titled My Life With Two Penises, is listed as “Diphallic Dude” — but he’s still more than willing to share his story.
You may recall that he’s bisexual (appropriate, no?), and at a time had a boyfriend and a girlfriend, and he now can claim to have a Twitter account with over 19,000 followers — comparable to a fair number of porn stars. (By the way, I’m following him already.lol)
Other than his greater awareness of the internet and his own internet fame, he says life is still pretty the same. “I’m just now more aware that the guy or girl standing next to me at the grocery store might have seen my penises,” he says.
As for why he wrote the book, he says he’s still just trying to help out people who’ve reached out to him following the Reddit AMA.
‘There are still a few questions that come through that weren’t asked before, and I realized that there are still people who are genuinely curious. From girls who want to know how to handle their boyfriend being uncircumcised to guys wanting to know if they’re gay or bisexual because my equipment turned them on. Really, it just stuns me that almost a year later, people are still reaching out to me. So I thought I should put a book together and use that to answer questions; but also give voice to people who might feel lost in the cracks. Even today bisexual people like myself are given more grief than you’d realize. We’re still “confused” or “cowards,” “too afraid to admit we’re gay.” Which is a load of crap.’
Also, he says, he’ll never be doing any porn or ever revealing his identity. He isn’t even collecting any profit from the book — he turned over all that money to the editor of the book.
‘If I were to reveal my identity, my life would never, ever be the same. Nothing would be the same for me again. I received countless interview requests within the first month of my Reddit AMA. Everything from interviews on news shows, offers for my own reality show, magazine and newspaper interviews, offers to do porn. You name it, I got it in spades. I turned them all down.
‘The best way and easiest way to explain it is like this: If Superman revealed to the world he was Clark Kent, he would never ever be left alone. Anyone he cared for would be scrutinized and a target. Anywhere he went, people would know who he was and have expectations of him. He would have no “alone” time and no freedom. If I went public and on camera, from that moment on, I’d be the guy with two dicks, not me.’
In this age when everybody wants to be famous, even if only on Instagram, that’s pretty goddamn refreshing.
