Ahem! That Awkward Moment when Ebuka Obi-Uchendu asks Alex Ekubo about the time he was ‘dating’ Uti

UntitledI mean, we all know a thing or two about that thing we are not supposed to know…

But, Ebuka, do you know something we don’t already know…

…or was it a slip of both tongue and mouth?

Actor and model Alex Ekubo was a guest on Rubbin Minds on Sunday, and during their discussion, the host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu asked Alex a very interesting question about Alex and his former BFF, Uti Nwachukwu. Ebuka said: “There was a lot of talk about…you know…when you guys were dating…”

Alex immediately stopped him with a laugh and said, “Wow, when we were dating?”

Ebuka rephrased the question and said, “When you guys were together… (Together? That’s better? lol)…there were gay rumours all over the place, you guys refuted it a lot of course…” (And so on and so forth)

Lol. Choi! Live interviews are not the best at all. Watch the video below.

  1. I know a few people who went to high school with Ebuka in abuja! So it’s kind of an open secret. I used to be a big fan of ebuka until I saw an episode of the spot where homosexuality came up and he made some sarcastic remarks. I can’t deal with hypocrisy, even as I don’t perhaps expect you to maybe endorse you might as well keep quiet. I stopped watching the spot after that.

Alexx and Uti are Lagos’ worst kept secret. In my opinion, I don’t think they were lovers. I just think they were good friends who had escapades together!!!

    • And to make matters worst his own married elder brother is the biggest whore know, he use to live in agu palace way, even when he was married, bring younger guys to his house then, we are our own problem for real, you suck dick, your family sucks dick, but you rather make a stupid statement about others. Sure the saying when you living in a glass house don’t throw stones hasn’t got to the moron

      • Wow! I grew up in Ago Palace Way….which side exactly, lol. Ebuka is just being mischievous…he knows what he’s doing. I met him once (well, he came to browse in a cybercafe near my house then some years back)

    • Dennis, am with you on that! while I dont exepct anyone to come out gay especially in a place like Nigeria, I will never tolerate a gay person bad mouthing other gays in a hypocritical manner. it drives me insane, like this married gay guy I know who forwarded a broadcast message in support of the anti – gay bill when it was newly passed. I went hyper-insane, I called him and tongue lashed him, then I bbm lashed him before I finally deleted his miserable sorry ass!!

  2. was it just me or was Alex hitting on Ebuka throughout that interview..
I mean what’s with him mentioning Ebuka every 5 seconds.
    damn this tea good.

  3. Nothing calls for this line of questioning.
    1. Alexx has always denied he is gay. It’s not this week that will change. Or was Ebuka trying to out him?

    2. It’s difficult – in fact, impossible – to deny you’re gay without casting a slur on gay people. The fact that he is not partucularly flattered by the gay rumours says a lot. And it’s sad.

    3. That part of the interview might have been staged. Before they entered the studio, two of them might have planned to play up the gay matter. Nothing makes an audience’s ears stand like gay gist. Na today?

  4. To ß̍̍̊ε̲̣̣̣̥ honest I jst don’t get it with Ebuka… Agreed he is cute bt why on earth would ƔU̶̲̥̅̊ wnt 2 out another “Closeted Gay Guy” when ƔU̶̲̥̅̊ Α̲̅я̩̥̊ƺ a big “Closeted Bitch” (forgive М̣̣̥̇̊Ɣ lingo buh dis bitch is pissing М̣̣̥̇̊Ɣ last good nerve off rite now) *Hey! Where Α̲̅я̩̥̊ƺ М̣̣̥̇̊Ɣ Christian Louboutin 6″ metal spike heels cos I’m about 2 rain on Ebuka’s Parade, I mean Charade*

  5. I know my gaydar has never worked, but seriously though, isn’t it just nice to just pretend/assume/believe that every handsome, dapper looking, eloquent personality on the entertainment/fashion scene is NOT gay? Its okay to drool over them, but actually tagging them? I still don’t think its fair. Except Ebuka has ‘toasted’ you guys personally, “dem say, dem say” yarns in this our community should not be taken with seriousness. The only score he has to settle with me is his homophobic tendencies

Oh btw, do I need to get external speakers for this system or is the sound quality for this video bad???

    • Wait, trystham., did u not watch ebuka constantly twerking for d gawds in d big-brother Nigeria House? Oh and yea…I’ve heard stories that would make ur eyes about his elder brother too!(I heard that one will try to persuade u for a fuck, even in his office!)

  6. Ebuka is so wrong for this! That bitch has always been messy as hell and he knew exactly what he was doin; dat wasn’t no slip of tongue! The things people do for ratings tho…knowing that I’m a closeted gay man (at least to d naija media), I donth think I’d feel comfortable putting another closeted gay man on d spot like that, in front of cameras,no less! Ebuka,ur time is coming soon if u keep up dis sort of messiness; someone will soon come for u with d tea and d receipts! *side-eye*

  7. I cannot deal with hypocrisy! How do you sleep @ night? I remember when the anti gay law was passed and my colleagues were busy analyzing the points. I kept mute pretending to be going over inventory records (which I had done the day before). One busy body chioma* (Not real name) then asked me what I thought about the law and just as I was about to answer, I noticed that the entire unit was watching me for my response (I am guessing that this was because of the sexual harassment claim that had been filed and discharged before this time). So I merely looked at all of them and told them that “what two consenting adults (key words being consenting adults) do in the privacy of their bedrooms is not my business, neither is it the business of the federal government and quite frankly it should not be the business of anybody in this office”. I went back to the fake inventory that I was doing and that was the last time that matter was ever discussed, at least while I was within hearing range!!!

  8. wow wow wow..i loooved this interview….and sure enough ebuks’s gaydar was selling so much on Alex’s radar that it was sooo apparent…anyways both of them…hot hot hot and at any point in time they need a goooooood balling from a strong big black “thang” ehm,,,,i just mite not hesitate…hmmm wishful thinking!!!

  9. with all the above comments about Ebuka, am starting to feel some distaste for the tightly closeted bitch. I always felt there was something slightly phony about him, right from his Big Brother Nigeria days … Either he was trying to stir up controversy and increase his show’s ratings or he was being a bitch with a pathetic case of internalized homophobia … whatever …

  10. I hate hypocrites.. throwing such a question to someone you know too well….You can now see that the draconian anti-gay law was endorsed by some hypocritic gay ppl in the government.. Tomorrow they’ll go and get married to an innocent clueless lady…mtchew.. Things like this make me wanna puke on them..cos these kind of ppl disgust me.
